Imposter Syndrome and Formula Student
It’s a curious thing. They say it hits all Computer Science people one way or another - I suppose because often we are all in some big competition or another with each other. Be it for jobs, placements, grades or whatever. In my case, I think it most affects me as a sense of not doing enough - I see my peers working away on their own stuff whilst I mostly do what work I can find on placement and rest in between.
So, I’ve started bringing my personal development laptop to work so that I can keep myself ticking over. Hopefully that results in more regular updates here! I’m working a lot on the Formula Student dashboard UI at the moment - once that’s all up and running I’ll be sure to do a writeup here on the technology behind it. Shoot, I might do one even earlier than that. The only problem is, I can’t test the damn thing whilst Uni is closed for Easter. Until then… Well. I built some local versions with the RPi dependencies removed for me to polish the UI. I might also spoof the networking so I can run the client and server simultaneously in testing.
Ah, well. Only 90 or so working days to go until we’re back to University proper. And it’s a long weekend coming up! I’ll work on something more fun soon, I promise.
Crikey, I feel like GRRM. TWoW coming soon, guys.
